With over 20 years’ experience, Alexandra Carrel has spent part of her career in international law firms and as Legal Director, then General Secretary, of Inserm Transfert, INSERM’s technology transfer subsidiary. In 2014, she founded Cabinet CARREL (now MCE CARREL) in Paris and then Lyon (France). She has been a partner at MCE LEGAL in Lausanne since 2021. Alexandra Carrel is also a director of KETOSWISS, in Basel (Switzerland).

Alexandra Carrel has developed unique legal expertise in technology transfer and the protection and development of innovative products (drugs, medical devices, digital and artificial intelligence platforms, technological and materials innovations, cosmetics, green chemistry).

Her expertise in French and Swiss law, as well as her knowledge of US law, enables her to work alongside her clients in complex international transactions and strategic alliances, both in the field of industrial property and in business law. She is thus able to assist them from the creation of their innovations through to the distribution or sale of their technologies or businesses.

Alexandra Carrel advises biotech, medical device, research services and digital companies, as well as academic institutions, on strategic partnerships and joint ventures, research collaborations, cooperation agreements, licensing agreements, manufacturing contracts, clinical trials and distribution. It also assists its clients with the creation, financing, acquisition or restructuring of companies.
